Evaluation of my media magazine

Draft Final

Task 6

For this I had to plan what and how I was going to make for my final pieces and what I got told was I had to make a music magazine front cover and for this I had to put all the master heads and plugs and different things that other magazines have on them to make mine look like it is a really magazine that you could buy. For task 6 I had to plan what I was going to put on it and what I thought was to put something’s like a main picture of a band/group and then work from that with different things coming from that different stores about them, the magazine was like there issue.

 

Task 7

Then from the task 6 that I had just done I had to make my very own front cover of a music magazine and to do this I used pixelmator and by now I had started to get the hang of using the soft ware and it started to become easier for me to use and get things right. I did have some problems which made me have to make my magazine front cover twice because the first one didn’t really look like a magazine you would see in the shops. Task 8

Along with the front cover I had to make a double page spread and a contents page, for my contents page I made up some storeys that you would see in a music magazine and I made my contents page like ones you see in proper magazines. For the double page I took the band from the front cover and made the article about them and this was good because I could do what I wanted about them I made my article like I was interviewing them it was in a question and answer format, it was all about them because they are and up and coming band in the magazine.

Preliminary Tasks

Task 4

This was the first of the preliminary tasks and for this I had to look again at the tasks that I had already undertaken and what I had to do was go though them and take the things that I had learnt from them to help me make my own school magazine. The main things that I had learnt for the planning and research was how to use pixelmator and how to deconstructed different parts of music magazines.  

I also had to make a rough draft of what I thought my magazine was going to look like this was just to give me an idea of what to do really.

 

Task 5

This was the first time I actually had to start working on my preliminary task and what I had to do was make a school magazine front cover with different plugs and things idents that linked in to the condense page that I had to make as well. What I learnt from this piece of work was that making a good high quality piece of work was hard on the apple Mac and it was hard to get the things that I wanted so I had to have a few goes at something’s to get them right; this was therefore wasting some of my time. But in the end it looks quite good.

Planning and Research

Task 1

For this I had to look into the different types of music magazines and what I had to do was annotate and deconstruct music magazines front covers and look at what they have to draw the reader in with their plugs, idents and master heads. These are looking it and these draw the reader in to get them to read inside. Also for task 1 I then had to carry this out again but on to different articles.

 

Task 2

For this task I had to get one of the magazine front covers that I had just deconstructed and I had to copy it as close to it as I could and I had to copy it with all the correct part and pictures. So what I learnt for trying to copy this magazine was that is harder than it looks to get something the same and also I learnt about how to use pixelmator which I hadn’t used before. Task 3

For this task I had to look into and find 2 different articles and I had to go though them like I did with the front cover and I had to find what the plugs and different puffs where. I had to do this on to different types of articles. I also had to look at the pictures and images that had been used on the page and see what time of images whether they where long shots close ups and things like that. Look into where that picture was there and how the mi en scene made that picture stand out and look how it did, and justify my points.
